Dothan Call Center

This city is located in the southeastern corner of Alabama. The city got its name from a town mentioned in a Bible verse, Genesis 37:17 – “For I heard them say, let us go to Dothan.” As of the 2007 census, the city’s population is 65,447.

Dothan is a known grower of peanuts and is home to the National Peanut Festival, established in 1938 and held each fall to honor peanut growers and celebrate the harvest. Approximately half of all peanuts produced in the United States are grown within a 100-mile radius of Dothan. The city of Dothan is currently undergoing a large economic boom with a number of multi-million dollar retail centers in their planning or pre-construction stages.

Dothan has one of the lowest costs of living in the country. In 2006, Dothan was rated #1 by US News and World Report as the cheapest city to live in, due to low local taxes. Dothan’s economy includes agriculture, aerospace, distribution, retail and advanced technology.

Dothan has two call centers operating in the city: Professional Wiregrass Communications and Southern Message Center.
