Huntsville Call Center

Huntsville is the largest city in Northern Alabama with 171,327 residents. This city is named after Revolutionary War veteran John Hunt, the first settler of the land around Big Spring. However, Hunt did not properly register his claim and the area was purchased by Leroy Pope who imposed the name Twickenham on the area to honor the home village of his kinsman Alexander Pope.

Huntsville’s main economic drivers are aerospace and military technology. Forty-two Fortune 500 companies have operations in Huntsville. In 2005, Forbes Magazine named the Huntsville-Decatur Combined Statistical Area as 6th best place in the nation for doing business and number one in terms of the number of engineers per total employment.

Last September 2006, Verizon Wireless opened a $44 million state headquarters and call center facility in Huntsville, and created 1,300 new jobs for the region, company and state officials. The site, a 152,389 square foot, 25 acre facility, is housing jobs including customer service, business sales and operational support functions.
